ヒマラヤマーモットをお迎えするまであと7日！
もう一度言います！ヒマラヤマーモットをお迎えするまであと7日です。日本で初めてヒマラヤマーモットをお迎えすることにとてもドキドキしています。ヒマラヤマーモットは、マーモット愛好会や海外勢からも圧倒的な人気ですよね。そんなヒマラヤマーモットちゃんたちが日本に来たらどうなるのだろうととてもワクワクしています。多くの方にマーモットを知っていただき、マーモットがより多くの人を笑顔にすると考えるとどんな未来が待っているのだろうと思います。多くの方がマーモットを愛することで、国内外のマーモットたちの幸せにつながると信じています。お金目的の悪い業者も出てくるかも知れませんが、対策は十分講じています。そのような会社が現れれば、ホームページやSNSで徹底した注意喚起を行います。場合によっては、訪問することも考えています。詐欺サイトや無理な繁殖を試みる業者、違法なルートで輸入しようとする会社が出てくるかも知れません。私も常に目を光らせていますが、万が一そのような情報を見かけましたら、私に通報をいただけますと助かります。
直近の課題は、マーモットを乗せてくれる航空会社探しです。現在は、マーモットたちが安全に日本に来られるようにマーモット専用の箱を中国の企業が作成しています。私からの強い要望で、広い空間、固定された食事皿と水皿、中にはマーモットが隠れることができるくらいの紙を入れるようにお願いしています。心や体の負担にならないように、輸送中でも十分な環境を整える必要があります。これまで日本に来たマーモットは、小型犬のキャリーケース程度の箱に入れられて輸送されてきたようです。輸出側も輸入側も、運搬費のコスト削減などを考えているのか、そのような状態で運搬を行うのは、やはりビジネスとしてしか考えられていなかったからだと思います。今後は、そのようなことが絶対に起きないように監視を続けていきたいと思います。
航空会社探しといえば、日本でも重要なことをお伝えします。おそらくですが、国内移動で飛行機を使ってのマーモットの移動は難しいかと思われます。そのため、マーモットをお迎えしようと考えている方や、一緒に旅行がしたいと考えている方は陸での移動を考えなければなりません。車での移動もちょっとした揺れや音が、環境に慣れていないマーモットたちからすると相当にストレスになります。全ての動物に共通しますが、移動はとてもストレスになるので、普段以上に休憩を挟みながら、様子を見てあげるようにしてください。移動中は寝られるように、ブランケットや大きめの布などをかけてあげて暗闇で安心させてあげることが理想だと思います。
今日は、まもちのために準備したご飯やアイテムをご紹介したいと思います。具体的に、商品名や金額も記載しますので、気になる方は調べてみてください。お迎えしたときには下記のようなものを準備しています。
①生野菜
にんじん、きゃべつ、かぼちゃ、バナナなど
※バナナはあげすぎないようにし、口が汚れないように注意してください。
②草食動物用ペレット（うさぎやモルモット用）
Amazonで「うさぎ フード」と検索してみてください。
「【療法食】 どうぶつ村 ラビットフード ミックス 2.5kg 764円」というものがありますが、栄養バランスが整っているので、与えるのがいいかと思います。体重の5~10％の量を数回に分けて与えるのが理想です。これから換算すると1日の食費は、多くても120円程度かと考えられます。
③掃除用品
ウェットティッシュ（アルコールが含まれてないもの）、ペットに優しい消臭・除菌スプレー、床拭きシート、掃除用のビニール手袋など
ワンちゃんや猫ちゃんの飼育時とほとんど同じになりますが、これらがあると便利です。
④消耗品
ペットシーツ（Amazonで300枚が2700円程度で販売されているもの）
1日に2,3枚しか使用しませんが、汚れるたびに替えてあげてください。
おおよその準備物は以上となります。
ケージやトイレ、ご飯皿なども必要ですが、おすすめのケージは、「三晃商会 イージーホーム 80 ハイ」というもので２万円ほどで購入できるものになります。１日に１時間程度は部屋を歩き回れる環境を整えることが重要ですが、このケージであれば、マーモットにとって比較的ストレスなく、衛生的に生活ができると思います。理想は、部屋で放し飼いですが、徹底した対策が必要ですのでご注意ください。
参考までに、食事は、私は午前7時、午後1時、午後8時にお皿に入れてあげたりしています。
朝ご飯、昼ご飯、そして夜食をマーモットたちと食べるのは毎日の楽しみです。

I'll say it again! 7 days left until I welcome a Himalayan marmot. I'm very excited to welcome my first Himalayan marmot in Japan. Himalayan marmots are overwhelmingly popular among marmot lovers and overseas. I'm very excited to see what will happen when these Himalayan marmots come to Japan. I wonder what kind of future awaits us when many people get to know about marmots and think that they will make many people smile. I believe that if many people love marmots, it will lead to the happiness of marmots both in Japan and abroad. There may be bad businesses that are only interested in making money, but we are taking sufficient measures. If such a company appears, I will thoroughly warn them on my website and social media. In some cases, I may even visit them. There may be fraudulent websites, businesses that try to breed them unreasonably, or companies that try to import them through illegal routes. I am always on the lookout, but if you see any such information, I would appreciate it if you could report it to me.
The immediate challenge is to find an airline that will take the marmots. Currently, a Chinese company is making boxes for the marmots so that they can come to Japan safely. At my strong request, I have asked them to make sure that the box has a large space, fixed food and water dishes, and enough paper for the marmots to hide inside. It is necessary to provide a sufficient environment even during transportation so that the marmots do not become mentally or physically burdened. It seems that the marmots that have come to Japan so far have been transported in boxes the size of a small dog carrier. I think that both the exporter and importer are thinking about reducing transportation costs, or that transporting them in such conditions is only considered a business. In the future, I would like to continue to monitor the situation so that such things never happen again.
Speaking of finding an airline, I will tell you something important in Japan. It is probably difficult to transport marmots by plane within Japan. Therefore, those who are thinking of getting a marmot or traveling with them will have to consider transporting them on land. Even slight shaking and noise when traveling by car can be quite stressful for marmots who are not used to the environment. This is common to all animals, but travel is very stressful, so please take more breaks than usual and keep an eye on them. I think it is ideal to cover them with a blanket or large cloth so that they can sleep during the trip and make them feel safe in the dark.
Today, I would like to introduce the food and items I prepared for Mamochi. I will list the product names and prices in detail, so if you are interested, please check them out. When I welcomed him, I prepared the following items.
1) Raw vegetables
Carrots, cabbage, pumpkin, bananas, etc.
*Do not give too many bananas, and be careful not to dirty mouth.
2) Pellets for herbivores (for rabbits and guinea pigs)
Search for "rabbit food" on Amazon.
There is a product called "Therapeutic Food: Animal Village Rabbit Food Mix 2.5kg 764 yen", which has a well-balanced nutritional content, so I think it's a good idea to feed it to your rabbit. Ideally, you should feed it 5-10% of its body weight in several meals. If you convert this, the daily food cost would be about 120 yen at most.
3) Cleaning supplies
Wet wipes (alcohol-free), pet-friendly deodorizing and disinfecting spray, floor wipes, plastic gloves for cleaning, etc.
It's almost the same as when raising a dog or cat, but these are useful to have.
4) Consumables
Pet sheets (300 sheets sold on Amazon for about 2,700 yen)
You only need to use 2 or 3 sheets a day, but change them every time they get dirty.
That's about all the items you need to prepare.
You will also need a cage, a litter box, and a food dish, but the recommended cage is the "Sanko Shokai Easy Home 80 High" which can be purchased for about 20,000 yen. It is important to create an environment where the marmot can walk around the room for about an hour a day, but with this cage, I think the marmot can live relatively stress-free and hygienically. Ideally, you would let them run free in the room, but please note that thorough measures are required.
For reference, I put food in the dish at 7 am, 1 pm, and 8 pm.
Eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the marmots is a daily pleasure.
